Consumer lending saw positive growth in Sweden in 2025, in both outstanding balance and gross lending, at stronger rates of growth than seen in the previous year overall. That said, while all categories saw positive growth, growth rates differ across different categories, with housing/mortgages lending stronger than the average and helping to support overall growth.

The local economy still has certain issues, but GDP saw low growth in 2025 (at 1.2% according to the International Monetary Fund), and inflation fell again in 2025. Meanwhile, housing prices have increased, which impacts mortgages/housing lending.
