That said, while all categories saw positive growth, growth rates differ across different categories, with housing/mortgages lending stronger than the average and helping to support overall growth.

Consumer lending maintained positive growth in Norway in 2025, in both outstanding balance values and gross lending values, at levels slightly higher than seen in 2024. The local economy still has certain issues, but GDP saw low growth in 2025 (at 1.2% according to the International Monetary Fund), and inflation fell again in 2025. Meanwhile, housing prices have increased, which impacts mortgages/housing lending.
Consumer lending maintained positive growth in Vietnam in 2025, with healthy growth rates in outstanding balance values and gross lending values, at levels slightly higher than seen in 2024. While all categories performed positively, durables lending saw the strongest growth in both outstanding balance and gross lending, with card lending also performing particularly well in gross lending.
Consumer lending in Saudi Arabia remained on a positive trajectory in 2025, driven by economic expansion under Vision 2030, the digital revolution, ongoing fintech innovation, and increasing consumer demand. Consumer finance covers individual loans, credit cards, auto loans, mortgages, and Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL).
Consumer lending outstanding balance values saw improved positive growth in Thailand in 2025, compared to 2024. Meanwhile, consumer gross lending values, while still in positive growth, have fallen compared to the previous year. This indicates a stabilising economy in the country—although a cautious lending sentiment still remains.
