The positive outlook for nuts in the UK will be driven by health-conscious consumers opting for less processed snacks, exemplifying a broader trend towards healthier eating habits that are expected to shape the future of the food industry. As health and wellness trends continue to rise, dried fruit and nuts company, Whitworths, is trying to convince the government to add nuts to the “5 A Day” guidance which could benefit the category by increasing adoption.
Another recent factor that has benefited nuts in the UK is rising prices elsewhere in the snacking sector. While nuts are not entirely immune to pricing pressures, they offer a unique value proposition that can sustain their growth over the forecast period.
