Apparel and footwear market sees modest gains as macroeconomic pressures ease
The apparel and footwear market in Canada is experiencing modest growth, driven by factors such as lower inflation and interest rates, and a surge in population due to high immigration. Despite value-focused spending by consumers affecting luxury products, the market remains competitive with highly variable brand performance. New entrants and innovative business models, such as resale and rental services, are shaping the competitive landscape. Looking ahead, the market is forecast to grow at a CAGR of 3% to CAD64,068 million by 2030, driven by population growth linked to immigration and reshaped by the adoption of AI technologies. Sustainability will remain a key trend, with brands adopting circular economy principles to enhance environmental stewardship.
