Market polarisation supports value growth
The apparel and footwear market in Taiwan experienced moderate value growth in 2025, with a 2% growth rate, reaching TWD384 billion in retail value sales. This growth was influenced by factors such as the post-pandemic boom in outbound travel and economic uncertainty. The market is characterised by a divide between bargain hunters and high-end spenders, with high-end consumer spending power remaining strong. To succeed, brands should focus on adopting artificial intelligence and sustainable practices, leveraging omnichannel presence, and adapting to changing consumer preferences, such as the growing demand for Korean-style fashion and the rise of resale and rental platforms. Rising disposable income is forecast to support luxury spending in the apparel and footwear market, benefiting brands that adapt to changing consumer preferences.
