Sustained expansion through sustainability and strategic adaptation
Apparel and footwear in the Philippines is experiencing significant growth, driven by rising disposable incomes and urbanisation, with retail value sales of PHP744 billion in 2025, representing 8% growth from the previous year. This growth is accompanied by a shift towards sustainability and inclusivity in product development, with brands incorporating eco-friendly materials and inclusive sizing. There is also a polarisation trend, with budget-friendly local players and premium global brands gaining traction, while mid-tier brands struggle to maintain relevance. E-commerce is emerging as a crucial channel, driven by mobile-first platforms and digital wallets. As the market continues to evolve, brands that prioritise sustainability, transparency, and inclusivity are likely to benefit, while those that fail to adapt may struggle to maintain share.
