PROSPECTS AND OPPORTUNITIES
Direct selling could benefit from an expanded sales force but sales likely to remain under pressure
It is expected that direct selling companies will focus on recruiting more sales agents as well as expanding their networks over the forecast period as they look to have more members and thus deliver stronger sales. Loyalty programmes will remain crucial for retaining customer loyalty, offering them the opportunity to collect points, bonuses and incentives.
New product development and educational marketing could be employed to build brand loyalty
The increasing health consciousness of Thai consumers is likely to fuel demand for health and wellness products over the forecast period. This should provide further opportunities for direct selling companies to introduce innovative offerings which could cater to these evolving consumer preferences.
Content marketing and video streaming strategies likely to be key to the future success of direct selling
Players could focus on creating online content to boost consumer engagement. Direct selling companies are increasingly posting video content on platforms like YouTube and TikTok to capture consumer attention and convey marketing messages effectively.

Direct Selling
Direct selling is the marketing of consumer goods directly to consumers, generally in their homes or the homes of others, at their workplace, and other places away from permanent retail locations. Direct selling occurs in two primary ways: On a one-to-one basis (usually by prior arrangement a demonstration is given by a direct seller to a customer) or on a party-plan basis (selling through explanation and demonstration of products to a group of prospective customers by a direct seller usually in the home of a host(ess) who invites other persons for this purpose). Avon stands as a prime example of a direct seller using one-to-one selling, whereas Tupperware is famous for its party-plan method. Direct selling of services - such as insurance, telecoms, other utilities, and financial services - are excluded.
