Footwear in Canada is projected to achieve steady value growth over the forecast period, supported by easing inflation and a growing population driven by robust immigration rates. All major segments, including men’s, women’s, and children’s footwear, are expected to post low single-digit growth in both value and volume.
Sustainability remains a key priority for Canadian consumers, particularly among Gen Z and Gen Alpha, as well as those purchasing sports and outdoor footwear. Concerns over climate change and waste reduction continue to drive demand for eco-friendly products.
E-commerce is expected to remain a crucial channel for footwear sales in Canada, as consumers increasingly rely on digital platforms for convenience and competitive pricing. Younger demographics, particularly Gen Z and Gen Alpha, are driving this shift, frequently purchasing from value-focused online retailers such as SHEIN and Temu.
