In Singapore's competitive footwear market, where sportswear brands are at the forefront, players will strive to differentiate themselves through creative strategies. One of the most prominent tactics being used is localisation, whereby global brands tailor their products and marketing to resonate with local culture and consumer preferences.
Personalisation is emerging as a key trend in the footwear industry, with major brands offering tailored experiences to engage consumers and enhance their shopping journeys. In 2024, Charles & Keith opened its first-ever flagship store in Jewel Changi, Singapore, incorporating a hot stamping machine that allows customers to personalise bag straps, luggage tags, and cardholders free-of-charge with any in-store purchase.
Since the waning of the pandemic, physical retail has regained importance in footwear sales, even with the rise of online shopping. Both consumers and retailers now recognise the unique value of in-store shopping, which offers experiences that cannot be matched by e-commerce.
