PROSPECTS AND OPPORTUNITIES
RTDs trend will remain on a positive trajectory, with brand Like expected to maintain strong success
RTDs will maintain a positive trajectory over the forecast period, outpacing the overall performance of alcoholic drinks, albeit at more sustainable levels than currently seen in the spikes of dynamic growth. This will be driven by spirit-based RTDs, which will continue as the largest and most active category.
Low alcohol RTDs likely to be preferred over non-alcoholic alternatives
The global trend toward non-alcoholic RTDs (and other non-alcoholic drinks) is growing rapidly, but in Colombia this trend has yet to take hold. Despite the younger generations of adult consumers showing an interest in adopting healthier lifestyles, which includes reducing alcohol consumption, the availability of non-alcoholic RTDs remains minimal.
Opportunities for state licoreras to be more active in RTDs
RTDs show significant potential for further growth, primarily driven by innovations in spirit-based products. State licoreras have a unique opportunity to explore this area, especially as interest in high-alcohol-content drinks is fading.

RTDs
RTD stands for ‘ready-to-drink’. Other terms which may be used for these products are FABs, alcopops and premixes. The RTDs sector is the aggregation of malt-, wine-, spirit- and other types of premixed drinks. These drinks usually have an alcohol content of around 5% but this can reach as high as 10% ABV. Premixes containing a high percentage of alcohol of around 15%+ combined with juice or any other soft drink are included here. RTDs are usually marketed as products to be drunk neat, with ice, or as a cocktail ingredient. Fruit-flavoured, vodka-based spirits with an alcohol content of between 16-21% are classified here. Examples: Alizé, Ursus Roter, Berentzen Fruchtige, Kleiner Feigling.
