RTDs is expected to maintain steady volume growth in North Macedonia over the forecast period, fuelled by newly launched brands and flavour extensions that continue to attract consumers. Convenience and portability will remain the key contributors to the appeal of such products, as they offer a hassle-free way to enjoy alcoholic beverages without the need for mixing—making them ideal for on-the-go social occasions, as well as for at-home consumption.
"The recent success of Olvi Oyj and its Le Coq and Johan Freitag brands, alongside the continued strength of Diageo Plc’s market-leading Smirnoff Ice, is expected to intensify competition among major RTD manufacturers. This heightened rivalry will likely drive a wave of more frequent product launches, with a strong emphasis on innovation in flavours, ingredients, and packaging.
Innovation in the RTDs will increasingly focus on flavour experimentation and premium, artisanal ingredients. The market is set to move beyond traditional fruit-based varieties towards more complex, sophisticated profiles inspired by classic cocktails, culinary trends, and global influences.

RTDs
RTD stands for ‘ready-to-drink’. Other terms which may be used for these products are FABs, alcopops and premixes. The RTDs sector is the aggregation of malt-, wine-, spirit- and other types of premixed drinks. These drinks usually have an alcohol content of around 5% but this can reach as high as 10% ABV. Premixes containing a high percentage of alcohol of around 15%+ combined with juice or any other soft drink are included here. RTDs are usually marketed as products to be drunk neat, with ice, or as a cocktail ingredient. Fruit-flavoured, vodka-based spirits with an alcohol content of between 16-21% are classified here. Examples: Alizé, Ursus Roter, Berentzen Fruchtige, Kleiner Feigling.
