PROSPECTS AND OPPORTUNITIES
Market faces slowdown amid demographic challenges, but spirit-based RTDs remain growth drivers
The market for RTDs in Bosnia and Herzegovina is far from fully saturated in terms of consumption. However, considering the limited economic power of the local population and the current brand landscape, the market will see a slowdown compared to the rapid volume growth seen during the review period.
RTD market set for intensified competition amid focus on health
Over the forecast period, the success of Olvi Oyj and its top-performing RTD brands is likely to attract strong attention from other leading players in the category. Competitors are expected to innovate by introducing new, more appealing flavours and drinks with moderate alcohol content.
Innovation in RTDs to focus on new flavours, premium ingredients, and wellness
Innovation in RTDs will focus on launching new brands and flavour extensions, incorporating premium ingredients that complement the base spirit. There will be a growing emphasis on organic, natural, and herbal blends to appeal to health- and wellness-conscious consumers.

RTDs
RTD stands for ‘ready-to-drink’. Other terms which may be used for these products are FABs, alcopops and premixes. The RTDs sector is the aggregation of malt-, wine-, spirit- and other types of premixed drinks. These drinks usually have an alcohol content of around 5% but this can reach as high as 10% ABV. Premixes containing a high percentage of alcohol of around 15%+ combined with juice or any other soft drink are included here. RTDs are usually marketed as products to be drunk neat, with ice, or as a cocktail ingredient. Fruit-flavoured, vodka-based spirits with an alcohol content of between 16-21% are classified here. Examples: Alizé, Ursus Roter, Berentzen Fruchtige, Kleiner Feigling.
