RTDs will register volume growth over the forecast period, though growth will be lower than over the review period, as RTDs reach a degree of maturity. Over the forecast period, volume sales will be underpinned by a confluence of evolving consumer preferences and strategic developments.
An emerging trend will be the addition of local ingredients in locally-made RTDs. This approach will leverage the familiarity of well-established Croatian alcoholic drinks and regional flavours to create RTDs that resonate with local sensibilities.
Innovation within RTDs will be focused on creating novel drinking experiences through experimentation with packaging, diverse flavours, unique ingredients, and varied alcohol content, with a wave of new product launches anticipated. While spirit-based RTDs have so far dominated the Croatian landscape, it is expected that other RTD varieties, such as wine-based or malt-based options, will emerge and gain traction as RTDs mature and consumer preferences diversify.

RTDs
RTD stands for ‘ready-to-drink’. Other terms which may be used for these products are FABs, alcopops and premixes. The RTDs sector is the aggregation of malt-, wine-, spirit- and other types of premixed drinks. These drinks usually have an alcohol content of around 5% but this can reach as high as 10% ABV. Premixes containing a high percentage of alcohol of around 15%+ combined with juice or any other soft drink are included here. RTDs are usually marketed as products to be drunk neat, with ice, or as a cocktail ingredient. Fruit-flavoured, vodka-based spirits with an alcohol content of between 16-21% are classified here. Examples: Alizé, Ursus Roter, Berentzen Fruchtige, Kleiner Feigling.
