Beer volume sales are expected to pick up over the forecast period, largely due to a recovery in the on-trade channel. Slow recovery is expected in 2025, as the war continues and more locals choose to go out more, with domestic tourism also showing some recovery.
The cost of living will continue to rise in Israel over the short term. In January 2025, VAT was increased from 17% to 18%, pushing up the price of all products including alcohol.
In 2024, many craft breweries have shifted from bottles to cans and have been educating consumers and retailers as to why beer tastes better from cans rather than bottles. The sun can damage the flavour of beer and cans are able to protect the beer from the sun, as opposed to bottles.

Beer
An alcoholic drink usually brewed from malt, sugar, hops and water and fermented with yeast. Some beers are made by fermenting a cereal, especially barley, and therefore not flavoured by hops. Alcohol content for beer is varied – anything up to and over 14% ABV (alcohol by volume), although 3.5% to 5% is most common. Beer is the aggregation of lager, dark beer, stout and non/low alcohol beer.
