Off-trade volume sales in beer will benefit from stabilising prices and an increase in disposable incomes during the forecast period. Growing demand for healthier alcoholic beverages such as non/low alcohol variants will also stimulate sales.
Rising prices are expected to heighten price sensitivity among consumers in Serbia. Cost-conscious consumers will decrease their beer consumption, while others may choose more budget-friendly beer alternatives.
Beer will remain highly traditional in Serbia, though during the forecast period consumers are likely to become more receptive to non-traditional beer varieties - including those with lower alcohol and calorie content, as well as innovative flavour combinations. A broader selection of niche products, such as gluten-free beers, is also anticipated.

Beer
An alcoholic drink usually brewed from malt, sugar, hops and water and fermented with yeast. Some beers are made by fermenting a cereal, especially barley, and therefore not flavoured by hops. Alcohol content for beer is varied – anything up to and over 14% ABV (alcohol by volume), although 3.5% to 5% is most common. Beer is the aggregation of lager, dark beer, stout and non/low alcohol beer.
