In 2024, Ramseier Suisse AG, the largest cider fruit processor in Switzerland, recorded an exceptionally good fruit harvest. The wet and mild summer led to a large harvest but also a lower sugar content than in previous years.
Swiss manufacturers are already remarkably creative in their marketing and have ensured that consumers have a wide choice of brands, which is rounded off by the well-known, multinational brands. At the end of the review period, however, domestic producers were still very much committed to purist apple cider with no other added flavours, and this also characterised the product ranges found in the retail channel, with even the multinational brands being noticeably cautious in this respect.
