PROSPECTS AND OPPORTUNITIES
Bulk sales of bottled water expected to experience further dynamic growth
The increasing need for hydration not only occurs when consumers are on the go. Rising temperatures in Chile during the summer encourage consumers to ensure they have adequate access to water at home.
Major concentrates and juice brands are set to ramp up efforts in flavoured water
In 2022, flavoured bottled water witnessed a notable innovation as established concentrate brands Vivo and Zuko entered the space with individual 190-200ml Tetra Pak formats, strategically targeting children and their parents. This trend continued in 2023 when juice brand Guallarauco introduced a 1-litre format marketed as "fruit water" expanding on the previous year's developments to reach a broader audience.
Water purifiers and filters to gain further momentum as a sustainable and cost-effective solution to bottled water
In the context of healthy living trends, water purifiers and filters have become increasingly popular options for Chilean consumers seeking purified, softer water that is free from microorganisms. This trend aligns with the growing focus on sustainability and the circular economy, as these devices help reduce plastic waste associated with bottled water consumption.
