COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE
Marketing, launches, and wide shelf presence maintain volume lead for Spritzer
Spritzer Bhd maintained its leading position in bottled water in Malaysia in off-trade volume terms in 2025, and saw a rise in its share thanks to its Spritzer, Summer Drinking Water, and Cactus brands. The company's success can be attributed to its effective marketing strategies, including a Chinese New Year campaign featuring a short film, "Speak from the Heart," accompanied by a free retro mug with product purchases, as well as roadshows and other promotional activities.
Divergent performances for Coca-Cola brands Schweppes Soda Water and Dasani
Coca-Cola Bottlers (M) Sdn Bhd saw an above-average growth rate in bottled water in Malaysia in off-trade volume terms in 2025. The company's Schweppes Soda Water brand, in carbonated purified bottled water, experienced price hikes in the off-trade channel due to surging raw material costs, resulting in faster off-trade value growth, but a decline in off-trade volumes.
