PROSPECTS AND OPPORTUNITIES
Blurring of lines between carbonates and sparkling flavoured bottled water
During the forecast period, sparkling flavoured bottled water is expected to benefit from the growing health and wellness trend in Singapore. While similar to carbonates in terms of their effervescence, sparkling flavoured bottled water differs in base ingredients, flavour profiles, and nutritional content, making it a healthier option.
Sustainability initiatives will continue to gain traction
During the forecast period, Singapore is poised to advance its sustainability efforts within the bottled water sector, driven by a combination of government policies, corporate initiatives, and growing consumer awareness. The Singaporean government is expected to continue its push to reduce single-use plastics, including bottled water, in both public and private sectors.
Supermarkets, convenience stores, and small local grocers will remain key channels for bottled water sales
Supermarkets, small local grocers, and convenience retailers continue to dominate retail sales of bottled water in Singapore, thanks to their easy accessibility and extensive product range. These outlets cater to consumers' immediate hydration needs, offering options across diverse price points, from standard brands to premium alternatives, ensuring appeal to a broad customer base.
