PROSPECTS AND OPPORTUNITIES
Navigating supply challenges and price volatility
Vegetable and seed oils are likely to face continued challenges over the forecast period, with volume sales expected to decline further. Rising prices, driven by reduced global supplies and soaring international market costs, will weigh heavily on consumer demand.
Opportunities in premium and health-focused products
Olive oil is set to maintain steady volume growth, supported by its strong health positioning and versatility in both cooking and direct consumption. As seen towards the end of the review period, the rising cost of bulk olive oil has driven many consumers towards bottled variants, which are perceived as offering better value.
Subcategory trends and evolving consumption habits
While vegetable and seed oils are expected to post modest growth, their prospects are constrained by their unhealthy image and escalating costs. Shifting dietary habits, including a preference for grilling over frying in foodservice outlets, are likely to further dampen demand.
