COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE
Private label retains bulk of retail value sales
Private label is projected to continue to dominate retail value sales of edible oils at the end of the review period. However, after strong growth in 2024, private label is projected to lose some retail value share over 2025 as the Germany economy normalises.
Strong investment in portfolios push private label
The success of private label is also informed by high levels of adaptability and innovation. Grocery retailers frequently update their product lines to reflect consumer trends, such as the growing demand for sustainable, organic and plant-based products.
