COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE
Adani Group leads thanks to well-rounded product portfolio and widespread distribution
Adani Group maintained its leading position in India's edible oils category in 2025, through extensive procurement capabilities, diversified sourcing, substantial refining capacity, and an expansive distribution network. Formerly known as Adani Wilmar Ltd, the player holds on to double-digit retail value share, although the landscape remains highly fragmented and characterised by numerous local and regional competitors.
Private label expands as consumers face rising prices
Driven by increasing prices of edible oils, private label and regional players gained further traction in 2025, particularly in mass segments like palm oil, mustard oil, and sunflower oil. As such, legacy brands are resorting to portfolio expansion to address regional preferences and mitigate risks associated with commodity fluctuations.
