Latent health trend likely to regain relevance once economic situation improves
Over the past two years of the review period, high inflation has been one of the main factors slowing down the trend among consumers in terms of demanding healthier products, while currently, economic stagnation and the slow pace at which wages have adjusted to a reality of higher prices are taking the lead. Although the decline in the purchasing power of Chilean consumers has negatively impacted demand for higher-priced soft drinks such as 100% juice, causing a shift towards lower-value options, the trend of consuming natural and healthy products remains present.
Sustainability as one of the top pillars for juice brands to attract consumers
Sustainable packaging has long been utilised in off-trade juice, particularly through the use of Tetra Pak boxes for individual formats. Recently, brands of 100% juice have been placing considerable emphasis on sustainable packaging as one of its defining features, with many brands adopting Tetra Pak boxes or glass bottles for all their formats.
