PROSPECTS AND OPPORTUNITIES
Population and improved economy will boost juice consumption
Juice is predicted to grow at a much faster pace in volume terms over the forecast period. Nigeria’s rising population and the growing consumer desire for new and more exotic tastes is expected to drive category growth.
100% juice to recover well as incomes improve
100% juice is expected to perform well in volume terms over the forecast period. Although 100% juice is still only available in concentrate format (reconstituted 100% juice), the 100% label is likely to encourage consumers seeking healthier and better-quality products, rather than the wide range of simply flavoured or low juice content products available.
Rising health awareness to benefit juice demand
Rising health consciousness and growing preference for sophisticated soft drinks will boost demand for juice over the forecast period. Nigerians are increasingly health conscious due the rising incidence of health conditions, such as diabetes and hypertension.
