PROSPECTS AND OPPORTUNITIES
Declining juice consumption balanced by expansion of use occasions
Demand for juice in Germany is expected to further decline over the forecast period, as consumers prioritise reducing their sugar intake. Juice, once a staple at breakfast, is increasingly perceived as an occasional indulgence rather than a daily essential.
Functional juice to drive health innovation
The growing interest in health and wellness is fuelling demand for functional juice enriched with added vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients. Products supporting immune health, such as vitamin C-rich orange juice or vitamin D-enhanced options, are becoming increasingly popular, particularly during flu season.
A sustainable future: Healthier juice for people and the planet
Sustainability is poised to become a cornerstone of juice’s future in Germany. Innovations such as reduced sugar content, achieved through natural sweeteners or advanced extraction techniques, will dominate new product launches.
