PROSPECTS AND OPPORTUNITIES
Innovations focus on sugar reduction and functional juices
Reducing sugar content, and functional juices with natural ingredients and low-calorie content will be growing trends that drive growth in juices during the forecast period. The interest in natural products is expected to drive demand, while demand for fresh juices using natural preservation and pasteurisation processes is also expected to increase.
Greater competition for other soft drinks challenges juice sales
Across the forecast period, juices will face growing competition from other soft drink categories, particularly flavoured carbonated waters, which are increasingly perceived as healthier options. These beverages often combine natural, unsweetened water with fruit juice, appealing to consumers who are looking for low-calorie, refreshing drinks with a more natural profile.
Improvement in purchasing power leads private label share to stabilise
While private labels continue to launch new products, it focuses on classic products and flavours, offering consumers familiar, affordable options. This approach helps private labels sustain their appeal, particularly among price-sensitive shoppers who value convenience and cost-effectiveness.
